The White Hart Inn at Lydgate

From the M62 head EAST bound, exit at Junction 20.
Take the A627M to Oldham, stay on the by-pass until the junction takes you to the A627, ON YOUR LEFT, do not turn off to the town centre. Remain on A627 until you reach a major roundabout named MUMPS with a railway bridge over it. This is the end of the by-pass. Follow sign for SADDLEWORTH taking the Lees Road, A669. From Manchester

Take the A62 to OLDHAM, on reaching the by-pass turn right - do not go to Oldham Town centre - but stay on the by-pass until you reach MUMPS BRIDGE roundabout, from the roundabout take the LEES road, A669. Directions continue at #

# Stay on the A669 for 2.4 miles. You will go through LEES, SPRINGHEAD and GROTTON. Through Grotton, travel up a steep incline, which flattens then go steep again. If you look to your RIGHT at this point you will see St Anne’s Church to your right, The White Hart is opposite this church. Just before the brow of the hill, 2.4 miles from the roundabout, a sign on your left hand side indicates ST. ANNE’S CHURCH - and points to the right. Turn right immediately after this sign - the White Hart is 50 yards on your left.

From Huddersfield
Take the A62 and follow directions for Oldham. From joining the A62 from the ring road in Huddersfield you will travel for 14.2 miles. As you reach the brow of the hill with Oldham in sight in the distance look for the STAR INN on your left at SCOUTHEAD. Turn left immediately after the Star Inn and follow this road to the cross roads. At the cross roads go straight on and the White Hart is 50 yards on your left.

From the M62 heading West - Exit at Junction 22
Take junction 22 off the M62, bear left onto A672, follow sign for SADDLEWORTH. After 3.1 miles you will reach DENSHAW, turn left, heading towards DELPH, be careful at this junction as when you turn left the road immediately splits into two, take the right hand fork, onto A6052. After 2 miles you will reach DELPH, go straight through this village and you will come to a T-junction, the A62. Turn right at this junction head towards OLDHAM and continue for 1.5 miles. As you reach the brow of the hill with Oldham in sight in the distance, look for the STAR INN at SOUTHEAD on your left. Turn left immediately after the Star Inn and follow this road to the Cross roads. At the cross roads go straight on and the White Hart is 50 yards on your left.

From Stalybridge
Take the A635 to Oldham for 2 miles. Turn left onto B6177 for 0.6 mile. Turn Right onto A670 for 0.8 mile, then bear left onto A6050 for 830 yards. The White Hart is on your right opposite ST ANNES CHURCH.
